We currently host our campaigns and one-shots across various local venues in Herefordshire. Your First Session: What to Expect

Don’t worry if you’ve never picked up a twenty-sided die before—we make it as easy as possible to jump straight into the story.

  • We Provide: Ready-to-use character sheets and all the technical materials you need to play.

  • Dice: You are more than welcome to bring your own "maths rocks," but if you don't have any yet, you can borrow a set from us for the session.

  • Refreshments: While the venue provides the space, we encourage you to bring your own snacks and drinks to keep your energy up during your dungeon crawl!

While our DMs lead the story, our behind-the-scones team is always at work organising the campaigns and finding the perfect venues to make these adventures possible. They handle the logistics and the heavy lifting, ensuring every session is ready for you to simply turn up and play.

Tom - Head DM

Head Dungeon Master

If there’s a story being told at a Game of Scones table, Tom is likely the one holding the map. With 13 years of TTRPG experience under his belt, Tom has transitioned from playing every race in the book to his true passion: world-building and campaign management.
Currently, Tom is balancing four active campaigns, including two concurrent high-fantasy adventures set in a completely homebrewed world. In a unique twist, the actions of one group directly impact the reality of the other making for some truly unpredictable storytelling!

James - Master of the One-Shot

Dungeon Master

With ten years of experience, James has mastered the art of the Homebrew, meaning every map, monster, and mystery you encounter has been hand-crafted for the table.
While he’s a veteran of D&D 5e, James also brings the world of Cyberpunk 2020 to Herefordshire. He thrives in the "One Shot" format; self-contained adventures that are perfect for newcomers who want to experience a full story without the pressure of a long-term commitment.
James is a man of strong convictions—both in his storytelling and his snacks. He famously champions Marmite on scones. Whether you think that’s a stroke of genius or a tabletop tragedy, it’s a guaranteed conversation starter while you’re waiting for your turn!

What’s coming to the table?

Our DM's are constantly writing new one-shots to ensure there’s always a "drop-in" spot for new players. Keep an eye out for:

  • The Wild West: A custom-written cowboy-themed adventure.

  • The Spooky & Surreal: Upcoming horror settings and Call of Cthulhu sessions.

  • The Elements: Adventures set in the Avatar universe (the Airbender kind, not the blue people!).
